About the SARSE name
The SARSE name stems from the first use of the editor "Semi-Automated RNA Sequence Editor" from the paper Andersen et al., 2007.
The SARSE name could also have a different meaning in relation to data processing, since it is another word for a sieve according to the Free Online dictionary:
n. 1. A fine sieve; a searce. v. t. 1. To sift through a sarse.
The program is build for parsing data through several analyzer programs and can thus be thought of as a sieve filtering data.
